Who are we?
What a universal question…
I believe many people have asked themselves:
“Who am I?”
Who am I? Where do I come from? Where am I going? What am I doing here?
What am I really, behind all the so-called external identities, roles, and masks?
If I ask myself whether I exist, the answer is clearly yes.
I exist—I am here, alive, capable of writing these words and thinking these thoughts.
So I know that I exist.
I know that YOU exist.
But beyond that, I honestly have no idea who I am…
I am a mystery—and so are you.
All of existence is one great and infinite mystery.
Even the next moment, the next breath, is a mystery!
Who knows what will happen? It is unknown!
And who is God, really? “God” is just a name… a word…
We are surrounded by so many words that try to imitate a definition or final clarification of the nature of things—but this is impossible.
Perhaps the real art lies in coming to peace with the Unknown and the Mysterious in this life—and allowing oneself to be guided by a Stranger who, despite all obstacles, can and will lead me—and anyone—to Freedom.
If that is what we truly seek.
