When the heart is in pain
In my book, it is said that a heart that feels pain is a possible opening to something better and greater for ourselves. We may know best ourselves why we feel pain—or we don’t—but no matter what, a heart that burns for Truth can also reach its desire, if the fire is strong enough!
The fire itself is a sign of the hunger within us, an impulse to do something new, to try to be different, to dare to let go of the tight grip and open our arms to a Higher Power that so deeply wants us.
And yes, in my own experience, it is not easy to blindly follow a force or an idea that one cannot see, touch, or feel.
It can be challenging to walk a path toward greater self-understanding, but on the other hand, it is also a blessing, an adventure, and a joy to surrender to the unknown and the unfamiliar—yet which is the very essence of all that exists.
I find the mysterious to be both alluring and, yes, fear-inducing. Precisely because it is unknown and not yet understood. But I want to come closer—as close as humanly possible!
The heart is a guide. Emotions can be misleading and untrue. And thoughts are often based on error and falsehood.
How do we navigate this confusion? It can't be right that we should be our own captains when we don’t even know the direction? That would be foolish.
Maybe it’s simply about daring to open the heart and let a stranger in—one who wants the best for us, who loves us more than anything else, and who wants to give us EVERYTHING that can possibly be given in this life.
